Mr. Sahedeva Sahoo, IAS (Retd.), Former Chief Secretary Govt. of Odisha & Ex-Vice Chancellor of OUAT Dr. Sahadev Sahoo was the former Chief Secretary of Govt. of Odisha and Former Vice Chancellor of OUAT, Bhubaneswar. He was in teaching profession from October 1963-July 1964. He was a Lecturer in International Affairs at Varanasi Hindu University, Pradhyapak in Public Administration, Viswabharati University, Shantiniketan. He served in Indian Administrative Service from 05.07.1964 to 31.10.2000, Odisha Cadre and held various posts under Government of Odisha and India. Dr. Sahoo is a professional member of All India Management Association, New Delhi. He has received training in Project Management, Leadership, Disaster Preparedness & Recovery Management, (Oxford Polytechnic, U.K.) ‘Information Technology in Government’, etc. He is also a writer and columnist with publications showcased in the Samaj, the Samaya, the Dharitri, the Pragatibadi, the Prajatantra, etc. He has travelled widely across many Asian countries, Scandinavian countries, European Union, UK, and USA. He has been honoured with many awards and accolades for his outstanding works. His has completed his M.A. (Pol. Sc.) (1963) from Allahabad University with a first class.
Began writing from Class VI, 1952, encouraged by Shri Ramakrushna Nanda. A columnist at various times in the Samaj, the Samaya, the Dharitri, the Pragatibadi, Prajatantra saptahikee, the monthly ‘Sansar, the monthly ‘Prajatantra Pratibha’. Hundreds of articles and stories in other journals. Oriya & English talks on Akashvani, Doordarshan, OTV etc., four stories dramatized on ETV (Oriya).
As State executive in many social and literary institutions, participated in many seminars and workshops, as main speaker and/or Chief Guest in and outside the state [e.g, the National Seminar on Mahakavi Sarala Das and the Fifteenth Century Indian Panorama, February 18-20-1995, in Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan], and in International Seminars [e.g., on e-Management at Bhubaneswar March, 2001]. And often in Multi-Discipline Centre on Safety, Health and Environment’s workshops and seminars. Eagerly sought as Guest in seminars and workshops.
